Is the future of content streaming inside video games? According to a Dubit study, more than 35% of eight-10-year-olds in the U.S. logged in to play Roblox at some point in the last 24 hours, while 26% checked into Fortnite. Experts say they are moving “natural behaviors of hanging out and playing together” into these gaming spaces, and consuming content is beginning to live in them as well. Fortnite and Roblox have already transformed into destinations for movie screenings and concerts, and they’re looking to become spaces where kids can “play, watch, and engage with content in real time.” This could range from choose-your-own-adventure gamified viewing to allowing kids to build their own content.
