Retailers are investing in livestreams—could they be shopping’s “next normal”? As livestream shopping continues to take off among in-store averse young consumers, more retailers and brands are investing in the tools they need and prioritizing it in their ecommerce strategy. Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Anne Klein, and Samsung are among the companies that have produced shoppable livestreams as a way to drive online sales. Coresight Research reported that livestream shopping sales were expected to “double” worldwide last year from $60 billion in 2019, and according to Clinch, 60% of livestreaming shopping transactions happen on mobile devices and tablets. YPulse’s shopping and retail report found that 51% of 13-39-year-olds are interested in livestream shopping post-COVID. (Marketing Dive)
