Snapchat is paying millions of dollars to top creators to post content.

Jan 19 2021

Snapchat is paying millions of dollars to top creators to post content. In 2020, Snapchat saw massive growth, and this year they’re focusing attention on bringing in more top creators and influencers to compete with TikTok and other platforms. The social platform is paying creators for videos that do well: One of TikTok’s stars Casey Cam was interested in Snapchat’s new “Spotlight” feature, which like it’s rival, allows users to share short-form videos, and soon enough he was making up to nearly $3 million for his content that was going viral. But it isn’t just top performances from competitors they’re eyeing. Emerging creators who aren’t influencers are getting paid by the platform for creating dancing videos, prank videos, challenges, tutorials, and other content that goes viral. (NYTimes)
