Gen Z is spending way more time using apps than older generations. According to an App Annie report, Gen Z users spend 10%—or an average of more than 4.1 hours—in top non-gaming apps compared to older users. They also tend to engage with apps more often, with 20% more sessions per user in non-gaming apps and 120 sessions per month per app compared to other groups. But Gen Z is also more likely to use games than older consumers, though they don’t access them “as often or use them as long.” TikTok and Snapchat were the top social apps Gen Z over-indexes on, Twitch is a top over-indexed entertainment app, while “finance and shopping apps haven’t yet reached a broad Gen Z audience.” (TechCrunch, Mobile Marketer)
