Millennials are showing a “big appetite” for the suburbs. YPulse’s No Place Like Home trend report found that 34% of Millennials who live in cities are considering or planning a move to a suburban or rural area, as they crave space during quarantines. And according to NAR, Millennials are most likely to report their overall quality of life has been negatively affected by the pandemic, as well as a reduced need to live near highways, public transit, or their place of work. Many real estate analysts say that this shift to the suburbs could continue even as lockdowns start to ease since working from home has become the new normal and prices in the suburbs still look “relatively cheap” compared to the cities.
