A major movie theater player is temporarily shutting locations in the U.S. and U.K. in the wake of blockbuster delays. The biggest movies of 2020 continue to be delayed or moved to SVOD—and without big titles to play, theaters are making tough decisions. After news that MGM’s will be delaying the new James Bond film release to April 2021, Cineworld—the owner of Regal movie theaters— announced that it is closing locations across the U.K. and U.S. for potentially more than two months. We found that most young consumers are eager to go back to the movies, but over half want to wait until there’s a vaccine for COVID. (CNBC, ABC News)
