Brands are rolling out “longer sales” as holiday shopping kicks off earlier than ever. People are ready to celebrate the holidays early, and retailers are kicking off the shopping season as soon as October. Shopping rewards app Shopkick is teaming up with Coresight Research and ecommerce site Fashwire to launch the “10.10 Shopping Festival” to engage young consumers in the U.S. with the goal to “increase revenue for brands and retailers while rewarding consumers for shopping early.” Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Day is reportedly kicking off on October 13. According to NRF, brands are preparing for next month by planning deep discounts and deals to accommodate early shoppers. (Adweek)
