LitPic and Likee are the next social apps coming to challenge TikTok. Seattle-based startup LitPic is another “copycat app” aiming to take TikTok’s spot. Launching next month, they’re targeting influencers on TikTok and even Instagram. To distinguish themselves from the competition, they’re touting their “built-in tools” that allow users to make money directly on the app. It offers four revenue streams where creators can earn cash through payments from followers, premium content subscriptions, or brand deals. LitPic will provide a “back-end talent agency” as a resource to connect influencers with relevant brands who are interested in collaborating. Currently, the app is in a “invite-only” beta mode and has started recruiting influencers from creator mansion The ClubHouse. Meanwhile, Joyy-owned Likee, which also lets influencers make money from virtual gifts they receive from fans, has garnered 150 million monthly active users as of June. (GeekWire, TechCrunch)
