Ad revenue for U.S. podcasts is projected to reach 1.13 billion next year. According to eMarketer, the U.S. podcast industry is expected to surpass 20% of digital radio ad spending this year, while next year ad revenue is projected to see a 45% jump, bringing it to $1.13 billion in 2021. An eMarketer forecasting director says the growth in podcast advertising spend will be more “resilient” this year in comparison to digital radio spending as a whole, which will likely see “double-digit declines.” Pre-pandemic, young listeners were already fueling the podcast industry so it should come as no surprise that brands are investing their dollars into the market.
