Daybreak Health is launching online therapy for teens amid the pandemic. According to the company, one in five teens in the U.S. have or will have a mental health issue—and the country’s “ineffectual response” to the virus is only worsening the problem. Now, the startup is working with a team of ten trained mental health experts to provide high schools and pediatric groups in the Bay Area with support to students, with a focus on 13-19-year-olds. Daybreak Health says the new initiative is a “full-stack therapy program” that gives one-on-one therapy and curriculums. Before a patient can be admitted, hour-long consultations are held with teens and their parents. YPulse found that 39% of 13-18-year-olds say their mental health has been negatively impacted by Coronavirus. (TechCrunch)
