During the pandemic, young travelers are waiting until the last minute to book vacations. As confirmed cases surge, and lockdowns and restrictions continue, consumers are waiting “until last minute” to commit to trips. In popular vacation spots turned COVID hotspots, like Florida, bookings have decreased as some beaches closed down for the summer holidays. According to travel marketing research consulting firm Longwoods International, 77% of travelers report changing plans compared to 69% a month earlier, and only 38% of travelers feel safe traveling outside their community. Hotel occupancy is down, while airline bookings have declined 66%. YPulse’s new travel report found that 65% of 13-39-year-olds plan to cut back on the amount they travel because of Coronavirus.
