Facebook is launching an app to predict major world events like COVID-19. The brand’s NPE team is launching Forecast, which will allow users to ask questions and use in-app points to make predictions about “what might happen in the future.” They will also be able to make their own “hypothesis” and create, discuss, and view those crowdsourced predictions. Before users’ questions are published, they will be reviewed by the Forecast team and edited for clarity. Additionally, the social network will be inviting members from the health, research, and academic communities to make predictions about the pandemic and its impact on the world. (TechCrunch)
