Apparel brands are staying positive about back-to-school shopping—even with school openings still in question.

Jun 09 2020

Apparel brands are staying positive about back-to-school shopping—even with school openings still in question. American Eagle Outfitters has reported a “terrific” demand for jeans and shorts even when retail locations were closed during the pandemic, with a strong demand in knitwear, loungewear, and other at-home apparel. Despite the uncertainty of the school year this upcoming fall semester, AEO is staying upbeat about the upcoming BTS shopping season—and they’re not alone. Old Navy reports being “encouraged by the trends [they’re seeing]” as they reopen stores, and plans to have the majority of retail locations reopened by the time school traditionally starts.
