Kids are watching TikTok almost as much YouTube. Gen Z has grown up on YouTube and it remains one of the most-used apps among children, but TikTok is starting to change things. According to a report from digital safety app maker Qustodio, four-15-year-olds spend an average of 85 minutes per day watching videos on YouTube compared to 80 minutes per day spent on TikTok. The latter app drove growth in kids’ social app use by 100% last year and 200% in 2020. During COVID, kids’ average use of TikTok hit 95 minutes per day compared with just two minutes more—97 minutes—spent on YouTube. (TechCrunch)
