Quarantine Together is the new dating app made “exactly for this moment.” Launched in March during the start of the social distancing period, Quarantine Together is a text-based app its creators say was designed “exactly for this moment.” At 6 p.m. every day, the app asks users whether they have washed their hands; if they say yes, they are introduced to another user by text. After 15 minutes, the matched users will be offered a link to video chat. According to the app’s developers, it’s less about appearances and rejection and more about “talk[ing] to another person.” YPulse’s exclusive data on COVID-19 on young consumers found that 14% of 18-24-year-olds say they will use dating apps/sites more during Coronavirus.
