The hottest parties are now virtual. With everyone self-isolating, today’s hottest house parties and clubs are moving online. Alcohol companies like Budweiser, Rémy Martin, Carlsberg, and Pernod Ricard are partnering with JD.com and Chinese music label Taihe Music Group to create online clubbing experiences—which have resulted in 40 to 70% increases in alcohol sales for the brands. Parties are also taking off on Zoom and Instagram. On the latter platform, D.J. D-Nice live-streamed a party with 4,000 attendees that included celebs like J.Lo, Drake, and Michelle Obama. As the organizer commented, “Musically we found a way to use tech to unite people, that’s a beautiful thing.” (NYTimes, The Verge, The Drum)
