Nonprofits are teaming up with cause-related brands to engage Millennials. Many nonprofits are borrowing modern marketing tactics to reach Millennials, using more social media, tapping sites like BuzzFeed, and in some cases even building partnerships to nurture relationships with future donors. Last year, the National Audubon Society teamed up with DTC shoe brand Allbirds on a campaign and limited-edition collection that featured species of birds endangered by climate change—which sold out in five days. Together, they targeted 20-to-40-year-olds with paid Facebook ads and generated nearly 334,000 impressions. (Marketing Dive)
