Young consumers’ remake fatigue doesn’t apply to video games. The industry is banking on Gen Z and Millennials’ nostalgia to produce “familiar yet fresh” reboots. Capcom and Nintendo are just some of the video game giants that have revamped popular titles like Resident Evil 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening—selling millions of copies. Now other companies are starting to follow suit: Activision is working on potential remakes of franchises like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Call of Duty, and Guitar Hero. (THR)
