AR apps want to change the way young consumers shop for their Nikes. Goat and Wanna Kicks are just some of the sneaker resale apps where sneakerheads can virtually try on rare shoes via augmented reality. While Nike and Adidas have included their own AR try-on tools for their apps, these ones offer refined technology that display different angles built from hundreds of sneaker images. While it might be too early to tell, AR has translated to some sales—78% of users who bought Nike’s Travis Scott sneaker played around with it on the app first. (WSJ)
