Millennials are impulsive shoppers who also plan ahead. According to the 2020 Consumer Culture Report from 5WPR, 18-to-34-year-olds are more likely to make impulse purchases than older generations, with 64% of this group impulse shopping versus 53% of Xers and 36% of Boomers. However, 90% of Millennials also carefully keep an eye out for sales before purchasing an item they really want, and they’re more likely than older shoppers to “keep a running wish list of items in their online carts at favorite e-commerce sites.” Millennials are on a financial upswing, with their spending power expected to reach $3 trillion in 2020.
