Coca-Cola and McDonald’s are the first brands to unveil AR lenses for Snapchat Scan. Users can unlock three Coca-Cola lenses when they point their smartphone cameras at a Coke logo on a product, or access McDonald’s lenses by scanning French fry boxes, food trays, and burger wrappers. The brands are hoping to engage more young people through Snapchat, which YPulse found is still one of their top used social media networks. These lenses could resonate with Gen Z especially: 40% of 13-to-18-year-olds tell YPulse they’re open to seeing advertising on the platform. (Mobile Marketer)
