Grocery stores are becoming “grocerants” and cooking for their customers. To make shoppers stay for more than just their typical grocery haul, supermarkets like Kroger, Whole Foods, and Hy-Vee are coming up with fresh ways to keep them for lunch or dinner too. Food halls, delivery-only kitchens, restaurants, and even cocktail bars are being added to stores to serve up menus and experience. YPulse’s Experiencification research found that 79% of young consumers like the idea of stores having restaurants and cafes in them, so it’s a smart trend for retailers to tap into. (CNN)
