While the products are cheaper—sometimes $200 less than the original’s listing price—they’re also potentially harmful and poor quality. But many online buyers believe if it’s listed on Amazon it must be “a genuine product.” These counterfeits are also affecting brands, causing them to lose revenue and push Amazon for more support in finding and removing the fakes.
