McDonald’s created beautiful minimalist ads for Instagram Stories. Marketing on Stories has skyrocketed this year, but often brands are running clips “awkwardly cut from traditional 30-second spots” instead of unique content. But McDonald’s Germany’s “Iconic Days” campaign was created specifically for the platform, turning the brand’s products into Instagram-worthy art. Simple outlines of menu items filled with illustrations of sunrises, sunsets, stars, and more appeared on a white background on the feed, corresponding to the time of day they would be ordered. Next, the campaign will be moved from Stories to other marketing, with posters and other media planned in coming months. (Adweek)
