TikTok has been stopping disabled users from going viral. Germany-based digital rights group Netzpolitik discovered and leaked a document created by the app, revealing a list of users that TikTok moderates, stopping content from leaving their own country. That list includes people with Downs syndrome, “facial disfigurements,” and those on the autism spectrum, as well as “queer” and “fat” users. Anti-bullying advocates believe the regulations are a step back from disability representation and are calling the app, usually known for being a safe and inclusive space, hypocritical. (Bustle)
