Netflix is getting into the fictional podcast business. After numerous scripted video series and nonfiction podcasts, Netflix is diving into the world of fictional podcasts with the premiere of The Only Podcast Left, a companion piece to its new hit teen apocalyptic zombie show Daybreak. The show will be available to stream on Spotify, as a “low risk, high reward” way to build a show’s universe for fans. Young consumers are fueling the audio industry, with seven in 10 Gen Z and Millennials listening to a podcast. (The Verge)
