Google is buying FitBit for $2.1 billion. After struggling in the wearables market, Google spent $40 million to buy Fossil smartwatch technology earlier this year. Now, they’re acquiring activity tracker brand FitBit (for quite a bit more), strengthening their fitness tracking position even more. YPulse’s Wellness Intensified research shows that 47% of 13-36-year-olds track information on their health/wellness, and FitBit is the top device that Gen Z and Millennials use to track their daily activity.
