Spotify has a new Kids app to create a safe space for young listeners—and increase family subscriptions. Spotify Kids will allow children ages 3 and up to listen to their own music and explore expert (not algorithm) picked recommendations and playlists—all filtered to block explicit content. The kid-friendly design features bright colors and characters, and changes depending on the age of the user, becoming more sophisticated as children grow older. Of course, it all requires a Premium Family plan to access, and potentially provides new targeted ad opportunities. (TechCrunch)
