“Not religious” has become many Millennials’ go-to label for defining their beliefs. In our survey on religion and spirituality, we found that one-third of Millennials identify as religious; the rest either say that they’re spiritual or none of the above. A confluence of disillusion with the Catholic Church amid scandals, the rise of non-nuclear families, and Millennials delaying forming families could be causes of their step back from organized religion. In addition, more young people are finding community, routine, and meaning in other places, like their local spin studio. (The Atlantic)
