MoviePass is finally, officially (probably?) taking their final bow.The company made waves with a $10 subscription service for unlimited movie screenings, but it quickly became unprofitable and is now shutting down—though their CEO has stepped down from his position to try to save it. While their low price turned out to be too good to be true, moviegoers did have a happily-ever-after as theatre chains revolutionized ticket prices by launching subscription services based on, but notably more profitable than, the MoviePass model.
