Camp Tawonga’s all-gender cabin is a haven for non-conforming young campers. The Jewish sleepaway camp is blurring gender lines for the Genreless Generation with a cabin built for everyone on the identity spectrum. At the 90-year-old summer camp, which flies an LGBTQ flag, campers learn to challenge societal influence with activities like writing love letters to their bodies. “We allow children to see they don’t have to fit into a box and give them the tools to become stronger allies and better activists back home,” explains the camp’s Executive Director.
