Disney is remaking nostalgic classics like Home Alone for its streaming service.To bolster Disney+’s position in the streaming wars, Disney’s CEO said in their recent earnings call that they’ll be rebooting four beloved franchises: Home Alone, Night At the Museum, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Cheaper By the Dozen. They’re leaning heavily on nostalgia to loosen Netflix’s hold on Millennials, already having announced that they’re creating a live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp for the service. (Deadline)
