Gen Zs who want to be YouTubers when they grow up are learning the trade at VidCon. Aspiring teens gathered at networking events to make connections that could help them hone their craft. Many look at online fame as a way to avoid a career, with one 16-year-old explaining, “A lot of my friends say, ‘I don’t want to go off and work in a cubicle. I want to be a YouTuber.'” Others looked at their endeavors as a win-win: even if they don’t become famous, they’ll learn valuable skills like editing. (NBC News)
