Twitch is the media’s new favorite platform to reach young consumers. BuzzFeed, The Washington Post, and Cheddar have all created Twitch-specific shows to reach young streamers, and some are even making a profit. Twitch's in-stream ads and subscriptions offer publishers “clear pathways to monetization” that might be lacking on other platforms. BuzzFeed Multiplayer, which focuses on esports, limits some content to paying subscribers, sells merchandise on their Twitch page, and has plans to add branded content partnerships. (Digiday)
