As media companies prepare to launch their own services, streaming is starting to look a lot more like traditional cable. Cord-cutters that want to keep abreast of new content will soon have to sign up for multiple services, all with separate bills. And even for nostalgic favorites, you may need to sign up for new services as they pull back their best content from Netflix—most notably, Friends and The Office (two of the Post-TV Gen’s favorite shows) could soon be forced onto WarnerMedia’s new service.
