Booze and a full menu have become trademarks, with many theaters also opening full bars, private booths, and hosting special events like Alamo Drafthouse’s “Willy Wonka Party.” While the experiential trend started in big cities, Alamo now has 37 locations in 10 states, iPic has 16, and small cities like Billings, Montana have gotten their own boutique options.
