Lawmakers have banned infused cocktails in California and nixed the trendy ingredient from New York’s food and beverages, and their reasons could keep interested young consumers from consuming CBD as anything but a vitamin. It turns out sourcing and quality isn’t up to standard, and even when it is, CBD is “oil-based and not going to be absorbed into a water-based [beverage],” according to an FDA committee member.
