Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why could be responsible for a spike in teen suicides. The show centers around a protagonist that commits suicide on-screen, which had mental health professionals worried about potential copycat behavior. Now, a study published in the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry shows that more 10-17-year-old boys committed suicide in the month following the show’s release than at any other time in the past five years. A third season is currently in production. (Business Insider, NYT)
