YouTube is reportedly giving up on original content. Insiders say that the Gen Z-beloved platform is stepping back from this aspect of the streaming wars by no longer accepting pitches for new shows and halting production on Origin and Overthinking with Kat & June. While this means they won’t be duking it out with streaming giants for an Emmy, their ongoing release of free-to-watch, ad-supported shows and movies is still a thorn in the side for competitors.
