Millennials are drinking more Irish whiskey, with volume sold in the U.S. spiking 61% over the past five years. The Irish Food Board also found that sales grew 9.4% in 2018, and spirits companies aren’t missing the chance to cash in. Jameson continues to dominate sales of the spirit, but up-and-comers are on the way to break into Millennials’ list of their top 21 favorite alcohols alongside the industry favorite. The number of distilleries in Ireland rose from just 3 in 2013 to 18 this year, with 8 more in the works. (CNBC)
