The skin care boom isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and big brands could get a bigger piece of the indie-dominated industry. The NPD Group reports that skin care grew 16% year-over-year as of October of last year, and that non-top-20 brands with cult social media followings took the lion’s share of sales. But big brands can take heart from L'Oréal Paris, who debuted a Hyaluronic Acid Serum based on trending skincare terms that now has over 900 reviews and a 4.5 star rating on Influenster—a go-to site for skin care lovers.
