Nintendo’s new president has hinted that the company might stop making consoles at some point in the future. In an interview with fan site NintendoEverything, he stated, “In the long-term, perhaps our focus as a business could shift away from home consoles – flexibility is just as important as ingenuity.” Though we doubt their focus will shift away from consoles anytime soon, the comment indicates their new goals will be smartphone-oriented and that they’ll do whatever it takes to be a part of gaming’s future.
