You won’t be able to buy any of the products at Ikea’s new store. Instead, their Manhattan location will act as a shoppable showroom where shoppers can check out merchandise IRL and then order it for delivery. Even small items, like picture frames, will only be for show. The Ikea Planning Studio will occupy much less real estate than their typical sprawling stores and yes, that means there probably won’t be room for a café (no sofas or Swedish meatballs at this location).
