Competitive gaming is coming to Walmart stores, thanks to a partnership with Esports Arena. The unlikely partnership lets Walmart get a foothold in the lucrative esports space and allows Esports Arena to “reach a much broader audience, and expand at a much faster rate,” according to their CEO. So far, five stores are getting fully-equipped playing spaces that will host leagues, tournaments, streaming events, and “open play hours” for curious customers. (Variety)
