IGTV hasnʼt become the YouTube competitor Facebook wanted it to be. An owner of a digital talent agency explains that “even huge celebrities and influencers are struggling to get the same types of views [on IGTV] they get on YouTube or their feed.” But it may be more than that: take LaurDIY, who was paid to promote the launch, but only has two videos on her channel. Users aren’t catching on either, with one 13-year-old saying, “itʼs really unnecessary and it’s a YouTube knockoff.” (Intelligencer)
