Timberland’s new 20,000-foot store is made to be Instagrammed, with 2,000 plants, a snow room, and a rain room. The location is clearly meant to be an experience, but has “a tenuous connection” to boots based on recreating what it’s like to be outside (without actually going outside of course). Their rain room features mirrors for selfies (that don’t show your boots) paired with lighting and audio made to resemble rain, while the snow room has a swirling container of snow. A Timberland VP says the location is generating photos and acting as a testing grounds for future stores. (Vox)
