Startups like Ollie, Common, WeWork’s WeLive, and others are selling a sense of community for young professionals willing to sacrifice space. Tenants share common areas and get a curated social calendar, which could include trips to farms and Broadway shows. One tenant explains the appeal: “Life in general can be a bit of a headache,” and at his Ollie apartment, “Everything is done for you, which is convenient.” (WSJ)
