The Genreless Generation hasn’t transcended all gender norms just yet. Plan International USA found that adolescent boys ranked strength and toughness as the most important male traits, while teen girls thought physical attractiveness was the most valued female trait. In addition, 82% of boys had overheard other boys criticized for “acting like a girl” while three in four 14-19-year-olds sometimes feel unsafe or seen as “sexual object[s].” (NYTimes)
