J.Crew is finally giving in and adding some items to Amazon. Many retailers, like Gap and Abercrombie & Fitch, have resisted listing their wares on the website because they worry about cheapening their brand and lowering the incentive for shoppers to visit stores. J.Crew is making a compromise by adding their lower-cost line, J.Crew Mercantile, to the site. The move should appeal to young consumers, many of whom told us Amazon is one of their favorite places to buy clothing. (WSJ)
