The New York Public Library is posting full novels to Instagram. Young readers will be able to read classic books in their entirety on NYPL’s Instagram Stories, starting with Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The books will live in the highlights section of their profile, “creating a digital bookshelf.” NYPL’s chief branch library officer hopes that the innovative storytelling format will change young consumers’ perceptions: “We want people to understand that libraries aren’t just those brick-and-mortar places full of dusty books.” (Fortune)
